MUT Unveils Winners of “Waves of Hope” Kinetic Art Challenge: A Tribute to the Ocean

Published: December 1, 2025

Mahanakorn University of Technology (MUT), in collaboration with Mahanakorn University Technology International College (MUTIC), has successfully concluded its highly anticipated Kinetic Art competition under the theme “Waves of Hope: Tales from the Ocean.” The event, held at the Mahanakorn Institute of Innovation (MiiX) in late November, served as a vibrant platform for young innovators to showcase their creativity by merging complex engineering mechanics with artistic storytelling to advocate for marine conservation.

Fusion of Mechanics and Storytelling The event atmosphere was electric with the energy of new ideas. The competition timeline kicked off on November 25, 2025, with teams arriving to install and calibrate their kinetic sculptures. On November 26, 2025, the intensity peaked during the Pitching Round, where contestants presented their concepts to a panel of distinguished judges.

The entries went beyond simple movement; they told compelling stories. Following the theme "Tales from the Ocean," the kinetic sculptures utilized gears, motors, and artistic elements to reflect the beauty of marine ecosystems, the crisis of plastic pollution, and the hope for environmental restoration. The projects stood as a testament to the power of interdisciplinary learning, seamlessly blending STEM skills with design aesthetics.

Celebrating Success at MiiX The culmination of the event took place on November 28, 2025, with the Awards Ceremony held at the Auditorium, 5th Floor, MiiX Building. University executives, faculty members, and fellow students gathered to witness the final results.

Prizes totaling over 100,000 THB were awarded to teams that demonstrated exceptional ingenuity in mechanical design, artistic execution, and thematic relevance.
