Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya Visits the MAHANAKORN Innovation Zone at “YOUNG รักษ์ทะเล : SEA THE CHANGE”
Bangkok, Thailand – Mahanakorn University of Technology (MUT) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya during Her Royal Highness’s visit to the MAHANAKORN Innovation Zone at “YOUNG รักษ์ทะเล : SEA THE CHANGE,” an immersive public exhibition dedicated to marine conservation and ocean sustainability, held at NEX Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon.
During the royal visit, representatives from Mahanakorn University of Technology had the privilege of presenting the University’s latest research and technological innovations, demonstrating how space technology, satellite remote sensing, artificial intelligence (AI), geospatial analytics, and robotics are being developed and applied to support marine conservation, environmental monitoring, and sustainable management of ocean resources.
The MAHANAKORN Innovation Zone showcased the University’s interdisciplinary research that bridges engineering, environmental science, data analytics, and space technology. Through a series of interactive displays and research demonstrations, visitors were introduced to innovative solutions addressing some of today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Among the featured research projects were:
- Earth Observation using Satellite Technology for monitoring environmental changes and supporting sustainable resource management.
- AI & Ocean Data Analytics, transforming complex satellite and environmental data into actionable insights for scientific research and decision-making.
- Oil Spill Detection and Monitoring, utilizing satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to enable rapid detection and response to marine pollution incidents.
- Coral Reef Monitoring, integrating satellite observations with in-situ environmental data to support coral reef conservation and ecosystem resilience.
- Blue Carbon & Seagrass Mapping, applying remote sensing technologies to assess coastal ecosystems that play a crucial role in carbon sequestration and biodiversity preservation.
- Robotics & Field Technology, featuring autonomous robotic systems and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) designed to support marine exploration, environmental monitoring, and coastal protection.
These research initiatives demonstrate Mahanakorn University of Technology’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge through innovation while creating practical solutions that contribute to national development and global sustainability goals.
Under the theme “Observe • Understand • Protect,” the MAHANAKORN Innovation Zone highlights the University’s vision of transforming research into real-world impact by combining advanced engineering, digital technologies, and scientific discovery to better understand and protect our oceans for future generations.
In addition to the University’s research showcase, “YOUNG รักษ์ทะเล : SEA THE CHANGE” offers visitors an immersive 360-degree underwater experience, interactive educational activities, and inspiring exhibitions designed to raise public awareness of marine conservation and environmental stewardship.
The exhibition welcomes visitors of all ages to explore how science, technology, and innovation can play an essential role in preserving marine ecosystems and promoting a sustainable future.
The MAHANAKORN Innovation Zone is open to the public free of charge throughout the exhibition period.
