MUT Joins Thailand’s National Mission to Advance the Semiconductor Industry, Visits the Netherlands to Study the Brainport–ASML–TU/e Model
Mahanakorn University of Technology (MUT), represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panway Pokaiudom, President of MUT, participated in Thailand’s vital mission to advance the semiconductor industry. The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), visited the Netherlands and Belgium to study the innovation ecosystem and forge collaborative partnerships in the semiconductor sector. This industry serves as a crucial global strategic sector and a primary driver for Thailand’s new economy.
This mission focused on studying the success of the Brainport Eindhoven model and engaging in collaborative discussions with ASML and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), recognized as Europe’s premier hubs for innovation and advanced technology workforce development.
MUT’s participation in this mission reflects the university’s commitment to establishing robust international networks. By integrating knowledge, technology, and workforce development strategies from world-leading organizations, MUT aims to elevate the capabilities of Thai students and actively support Thailand’s drive to become a sustainable component of the global semiconductor supply chain.
As one of only three universities in Thailand designated as a National Semiconductor Training Center (NSTC), MUT plays a critical role in developing the nation’s semiconductor workforce. The university offers degree programs in Semiconductor Engineering to produce high-quality engineers and professionals, alongside upskilling and reskilling training courses designed to support the microchip, artificial intelligence (AI), and future technology industries.
